Silverette Nipple Cups

As our nursing cups sit at a higher price point than some of the alternatives on the market, we feel it’s important to be transparent about why.

Silverette® cups are independently tested to verify that they are genuine sterling silver — not silver-plated or trilaminate like most other competitors on the market. Each pair is handmade in a registered medical facility in Italy, under strict manufacturing standards (European manufacturing standards are among the strictest in the world, prioritising consumer safety, environmental sustainability, and high-quality production). Silverettes® carry the CE marking, which signifies that a product complies with these strict European Union (EU) safety, health, and environmental protection requirements. Silverette® are also made from sustainably sourced, recycled silver. Italian silver is internationally renowned for its quality.

Almost all other silver cups brands on the market are mass produced in China or Turkey and are white label products. These unregulated products unfortunately come with no guarantee as to the quality of their metal composition. Independent testing has showed that some brands promoted as "pure silver" in fact contain very little silver, and are mostly copper, zinc and/or nickel. 

Silverette® also differ from most other brands on the market in that they are fully traceable, with each product having a LOT/batch number and the manufacturer details on the packaging. This is a Medsafe requirement. Unfortunately, a lot of brands available in NZ do not meet these requirements. If you sell competitor brands it would be worth looking for these details on the packaging to ensure you are selling products that meet Medsafe requirements.
